Today is the first day of the rest of my life...I am marking it by starting this blog to record thoughts, some memories and air my pictures and scrap pages!! I see so many blogs on the internet and they are so interesting. I hope that one or two of you will find this interesting in some way.

This is my home, water in front of me and water behind me. I wouldn't be surprised to find that there is salt water in my veins!!! LOL! This water can be gentle or it can be threatening too.
Some days the wind is wild and throws the seas high into the air!!! So beautiful to watch!! So deadly if your caught out in it!!
When you live on an island your life revolves around the ocean and the tides. If you make your living from the sea it can be perilous and it can be profitable. The profit only comes if the fish come. 
there are no guarantees in fishing anymore than there is in farming. Here, the herring make a nice addition to the yearly coffers if they arrive. They are caught in weirs.
